Thus Hartman notes that whatever experiences a prophet may have, when he writes down what he wishes to communicate of what he has experienced, he expresses himself in words which are coloured by the tradition of which he is a representative. This means that, as regards what has been seen and written down, we cannot draw any clear distinction between texts whose authors reproduce visions and texts whose ‘ordinary’
